About Soudabeh


Soudabeh Ardavan was born in the city of Tabriz in northwestern Iran. She is an architect and designer by education. At the age of 23 she was imprisoned for her political activities and believes in Iran. She was forced to spend eight years of her life in the notorious Evin prison, where she painted hundreds of prison scenes and portraits in miniature that she smuggled out with the help of those who came to visit their relatives in prison.
